Africa Sustainable Future Forum - 22 May 2012, 14.00 - 18.00
Progressive economic growth of African countries have been impressive over the recent years with the headline ‘Africa rising’ capturing the optimism of Africa’s role in the global community. Yet, this growth must be examined in a proper context with sustainability issues forming a formidable threat. The moves towards a sustainable economy can mitigate risks, boost development while reducing poverty. This agenda necessitates the efficient use and management of resources, while mobilsing leadership to build capacity.
The Africa Sustainable Future Forum (ASFF) is a global platform for dialogue and partnership with the objective of developing a sustainable future roadmap for Africa. Convening leaders from government, business and international organisations the Forum will define collaborative solutions that will drive sustainable development in Africa. The inaugural 2012 ASFF will address topics on policy development, leadership, smart agriculture, resource stewardship and social inclusion.
